Samsung and six Flags are partnering to take you on the greatest ride.

Beginning after this month, adrenaline junkies in Texas, Georgia, California, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, and Quebec will get the chance to take their amusement park experience to the next degree and ride one of nine roller coasters which is equipped with Samsung Gear VR headsets.

Instead of passengers seeing the normal bargain beams, they are going to rather be carried to virtual worlds where they can be fighting with aliens in space or flying beside Superman in Metropolis. On some of the coasters, passengers will be given the chance to to fight back by firing weapons that are virtual.

“This transforms the modern roller coaster into an entirely new, one of a kind sensorial experience — powered by technology,” Marc Mathieu, CMO of Samsung Electronics America, described in a statement.

Technology much like this has already appeared at Europa Park in Germany. During a ride on The Alpenexpress VR-RIDE, passengers travel though an animated 3D world that “totally fits the real roller coaster track.”

This outstanding technology is a clear game-changer for theme park rides and represents everything our brand stands for — delivering the advanced and most thrilling rides and attractions on earth,” said Six Flags President and CEO, John Duffey.
